Support Worker - Learning Disabilities

Main Responsibility

Your days will be  rewarding and outcome-driven and include providing direct support to adults with a learning disability. You will be based primarily in Writhlington, Radstock but the role include travelling to service users homes who live in the Bath and North East Somerset area. Therefore access to a car and a full clean driving licience is required. 

Main responsibilities include: 

  • Support service users in a person centred way with their assessed needs; this could include shopping, cleaning, budgeting, personal care.
  • Be a key worker and lead on ensuring support plans and risk assessments are up to date.
  • Provide personal care to service users in a sensitive and dignified manner.
  • To administer and offer medication in accordance to the HRCG Care Group Medication Policy.

The Ideal Candidate

The Supported Living Service for HCRG Care Group, Bath and North East Somerset are looking for passionate individuals to join us to undertake this key role in the community and provide excellent care and support to service users. We are looking for experienced Support Workers to support adults with a learning disability and/or autism to gain and develop their skills and independence. This could be with aspects of daily living, maintaining a tenancy, shopping, personal care tasks or accessing the local community.

Ideally we are looking for someone with experience of working in the field of social care and particularly learning disabilities, however, more importantly is having the willingness to learn and the enthusiasm to make a difference.

You must have experience or be comfortable with possible lone working.
