Full-time Receptionist/Administrator

Job Introduction

Sutherland Lodge Surgery are looking for a friendly, kind receptionist/administrator who enjoys a patient facing role on a busy reception.  You will be working with a great team of full time and part time receptionist/administrators and a welcoming wider team.  It's really important to us to find someone who can be flexible about working hours, we do some late nights when the finish time is 8pm, it would be fab if you could take your turn with that.  We also open on some Saturdays.  There are opportunities for training and development, there is also time spent away from reception working the triage system, processing prescription requests, scanning and coding documents and other administrative work.  

Main Responsibility

  • Welcome patients both face to face and on the phone. 
  • Gain an understanding of where and how to signpost patients to the most appropriate person in the surgery that can help them. 
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the administrative process by undertaking admin roles, calling patients to encourage them to book for poor health prevention appointments, covering the reception from 08:00 - 20:00 on a rota basis. 
  • Meeting the telephone answering targets so our patients aren't kept waiting on the phone. 

The Ideal Candidate

You will preferably have proven experience in a reception and administration role, have outstanding customer service skills and have the ability to demonstrate professional behaviours at all times.

You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of  packages including email, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
