Job Introduction
We are looking for a new Group Finance Director to join us at HCRG Care Group !
You will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy and ensuring the financial well-being of our Healthcare organisation. You will oversee all financial activities within the group, provide strategic guidance to the executive team, and drive the achievement of financial goals and objectives. This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished finance professional to contribute to the growth and success of a thriving company.
We are looking for someone to join us on a permanent, full-time basis. Working hybrid between home and our head office in Runcorn, Cheshire.
Main Responsibility
The Group Finance Director will be expected to contribute to the organisational strategy, manage significant commercial relationships with our NHS, Local Authority and Third sector partners, and deputise for the CFO as required. In addition, as a member of the senior leadership team locally and nationally, you will be expected to champion and lead organisational wide initiatives in and outside the finance arena.
Your key responsibilities will also include:
- Support the Executive Team in maintaining and regularly updating the Business Plan including financial forecasts and investment requirements
- Provide effective collaboration and delivery as a key member of the Senior Leadership Group
- Embed a culture of continuous improvement and learning, openness, honesty, freedom to speak up and caring
- Support and lead commercial contract negotiations where appropriate, using these negotiations to drive benefit for the business
- Champion for adoption of tools and technologies that will create efficiencies and deliver financial controls within the business, including but not limited to e-rostering and establishment management
This role has overall accountability for the following areas;
- Financial Controls
- Statutory Accounting
- Taxation (with support from RSM)
- Transactional Shared Services (Accounts payable / receivable / cash and banking}
- Record to Report (R2R) and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Procurement
- Commercial Finance Business Partnering
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be an existing Director / Head of Finance or Group Financial Controller with significant experience of leading change and transformation. They’ll be an expert business partner with the personal gravitas and leadership qualities required to operate across a complex and rapidly growing organisation and to ensure that the finance function is completely aligned to deliver the operational and strategic needs of the business.
You will also have the following qualifications / experience:
- Recognised professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ICAEW, ACMA, CIMA
- Senior Finance professional with strong technical capability but above all a deep and proven level of commercial experience and acumen
- Able to build capable Finance and Procurement, functions through a clear and articulated vision, effective hiring, development and retention of great people
- Excellent people skills including listening, negotiation, persuasion and initiating change
Previous experience in the healthcare industry is desirable but not essential
