Dental Nurse (£500 Welcome Bonus)

Job Introduction

We are looking for a Dental Nurse to join our Surrey Community Dental Service, on a full or part time basis, to help us continue to change things for the better. The position is based in Guildford with some travel to other clinics including, Farnham, Woking, Epsom Downs, Leatherhead and Staines.


This is a weekday service, no evenings, weekends, or bank holidays required!

We join three local acute hospitals providing a General Anaesthetic service, this is held several times each month and staffed based on a rota. All travel from your base location for work purposes will be reimbursed.

As a team we support with post qualification training including the NEBDN Special Care Qualification, in addition to external courses we provide an Inhalation Sedation in-house training course.  Any courses that are relevant to the role and will develop your skills are fully funded by HCRG Care Group.

We are offering a Welcome Bonus of £500 and the price of a years GDC registration to the successful candidate!

Main Responsibility

You will support the Community Dental Service by preparing the surgery at the beginning of a clinical session, making sure all materials and instruments are ready for all clinical procedures.

Other responsibilities may include:

  • Providing advice to patient/parents/carers regarding patient care packages
  • Assisting the Community Dentists and Therapists throughout the treatment session and supervise patients until they are able to leave the surgery
  • Undertaking duties, which involve dealing with a variety of Adults & Children all with special needs
  • Listening to patient’s opinions and support them within the structure of the service and take appropriate action
  • Assisting the Dental Nurse Team Manager in the day-to-day administration of the service

The Ideal Candidate

You will need to have a Diploma or National Certificate in Dental nursing with the evidence of continued professional development (CPD), and registered with the GDC.

Having previous Community Dental experience is desirable but not essential as full training and guidance will be provided from the team. We offer varied courses to develop your career, we are looking for someone with the want to undertake these and progress.
