Job Introduction
We are looking for a Band 6 Nurse to join our Children in Care (CIC) team at Burnley, Lancashire.
As a Band 6 Children in Care Nurse within HCRG Care Group Lancashire 0-19 team you will be responsible for the support and care of our Looked After Children aged 0-18 years. You will complete annual (or 6 monthly for children under 5 years of age) health assessments for Children in Care and be responsible and accountable for their health needs and inform the wider multi-agency team of any concerns that may arise for them.
This is a permanent, part time position. We are looking for a registered nurse or mental health nurse with a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
Main Responsibility
You will be responsible:
- To ensure services are delivered in a sensitive, age-appropriate way that recognises the importance of choice, culture and diversity
- To work in partnership with local Enhanced Safeguarding Teams, Children’s Social Care, Foster Carers, Independent Reviewing Officers, Residential Workers and Birth Parents in promoting the health of CIC and maintain good liaison with other agencies, both statutory and voluntary
- To provide advice and training on CIC to all staff within Lancashire Healthy Young People and Families Service for colleagues who come into contact with CIC
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a passionate and driven candidate who is a registered nurse or mental health nurse with a valid NMC pin. In addition, you will have:
- Experience of leadership and/or management
- Experience of working directly with Children in Care and their families/carers
- Extensive knowledge of Children in Care procedures and policies
- A full UK driving license and access to vehicle
