Bank Counsellor

Job Introduction

HCRG Care Group Wiltshire Children and Young People’s emotional wellbeing service are currently seeking a passionate and experienced children and young person's counsellor to work on a flexible contract!

This role will be to complement the wider wellbeing team who will be offering early support such as group work and positive activities with the aim of preventing escalation to more specialist CAMHS services. You will provide in person and/or remote support to children and young people who may be experiencing a range of issues.

As a Bank member of the team you will be able to meet the needs of the service when there is increased demand to ensure that children and young people are able to access support in a timely way.

Main Responsibility

As a Bank Counsellor you will:

  • Communicate effectively with a wide variety of professionals relevant to the role
  • To deliver therapeutic interventions to children and young people, working independently which may at times mean lone working
  • Undertake professional initial assessments of young people and formulate a plan for their treatment within the guidelines of the service
  • Provide ongoing (up to 10 weeks) and one-off counselling to young people
  • Support alternatives to one-to-one therapeutic work i.e., group work

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum level 4 Counselling Qualification
  • BACP Membership/Registration
  • Previous experience supporting vulnerable Children

To be successful in the role candidates are required to have excellent time management skills. You must be compassionate, resilient and dedicated to changing the lives of the families that HCRG Care Group strive to make a difference to.

Due to the nature of the role, it is essential for you to have a driving licence and access to a vehicle.
