Band 7 Podiatry Team Lead

Job Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Band 7 Podiatrist to join our North Kent community service.

This senior clinical role is ideal for a confident practitioner with advanced assessment and treatment skills who is passionate about delivering high-quality care, supporting service development and leading colleagues within a community setting.

You will manage a complex caseload while providing clinical leadership, supervision and education to junior podiatrists, podiatry assistants and students. You will work both independently and collaboratively as part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team.

Main Responsibility

As a Band 7 Community Podiatrist, you will:

  • Assess, diagnose and manage a complex and high-risk caseload

  • Lead on clinical decision-making for patients with wound care, diabetic foot and MSK presentations

  • Evaluate and monitor clinical outcomes of interventions

  • Develop and lead on a defined clinical specialty area

  • Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to junior staff and students

  • Deliver education sessions and service presentations

  • Communicate complex and sensitive information clearly to patients and carers

  • Maintain accurate, professional and accountable patient records

  • Contribute to audit, service improvement and quality initiatives

  • Apply service policies and governance frameworks appropriately

  • Work flexibly across community sites within Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a motivated and experienced clinician ready to take on a senior role within the community podiatry team.

You will:

  • Hold a Degree in Podiatry

  • Be HCPC registered

  • Be qualified in local anaesthesia

  • Have significant post-graduate clinical experience

  • Demonstrate strong expertise in high-risk wound management and offloading

  • Demonstrate strong MSK assessment skills, treatment planning and orthotic prescription

  • Be confident managing a complex caseload independently

  • Have experience supporting or supervising junior colleagues

  • Be confident working autonomously and prioritising workload

  • Have strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle

  • Be confident using IT systems including Microsoft Office
