Specialist Respiratory Practitioner (Nurse / AHP)

Job Introduction

The Band 7 Specialist Respiratory Nurse / AHP will work as an independent practitioner delivering high quality Respiratory Nursing care to a specific caseload of patients in the Swale locality, Improving their quality of life, promoting excellence of health and independence within the community, preventing inappropriate hospital admissions and facilitating early discharge, as well as provide education and health promotion. As part of the multi disciplinary team you will work alongside specialist consultants, GP's within the Community. 

You will work between the hours of 09:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday - with no weekend work required and no bank holiday work included.

Main Responsibility

As a Band 7 Specialist Respiratory Nurse / AHP you will

  • Lead the nursing service
  • Promote the health and wellbeing of people with Respiratory Conditions
  • Provide a link between GP and Consultant led specialist teams
  • Provide education and support both to patients and those who care for them
  • Reduce unnecessary hospital admissions where possible

The Ideal Candidate

As a Band 7 Specialist Respiratory Nurse / AHP will:

  • Be a Registered Nurse with a valid NMC Registration.
  • Have at least 4 years post qualification experience at Band 6 or Band 7 of caring for patients with Respiratory conditions in a specialist nursing capacity in both Acute and Community clinical settings.
  • Have evidence of post qualification Respiratory Care and Management including ARTP qualification
  • Have experience in Working with patients in groups and delivering education
  • Have excellent communication,  IT, collaborative and motivational skills
