We are looking for both experienced Social Workers and those who are newly qualified to join our fantastic team. As an Adult Social Care Community Team, we work generically with a wide range of people with varying presenting needs. This provides excellent opportunities for developing social work skills and knowledge.
Main Responsibility
We are looking for a Social Worker to join our Team. As a Social Worker in the team you will work with residents of North East Somerset who may be in need in of social care support
- We are delegated to deliver B&NES Council’s statutory social care function for adults who may have care and support needs as outlined in the Care Act 2014
- You will primarily be undertaking assessments under the Care Act 2014. This involves direct work with individuals, families and professionals, report writing, support planning, Carer’s Assessments and Mental Capacity Assessments
- You will also be expected to undertake safeguarding enquiries under S.42 (Care Act 2014). attending safeguarding meetings and practicing in accordance to ‘Making Safeguarding Personal’ principles
- You will also work with individuals around self-neglect concerns in accordance with BANES self-neglect policy
The Ideal Candidate
You must be qualified with a social work degree or equivalent and be registered with Social Work England.
Hold a Full UK Driver’s License and have access to a car/vehicle
You will have experience of working with adults in need of support and have a working knowledge of effective models of strength based personalised assessments, knowledge of current research and a working knowledge of current legislation.
You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
