Job Introduction
We are a close and supportive team of Social Workers, Safeguarding Administrators and a Team Manager. Our Social Workers have manageable caseloads and we recognise the importance of robust reflective supervision and peer led group supervision. You will be encouraged to share your ideas, best practice and actively work towards improving the work that we do.
Main Responsibility
We are looking for an experienced Social Worker to join our Adult Safeguarding Team. As a Social Worker in the team you will work with individuals, families and professionals to make enquiries into safeguarding concerns across Bath and North East Somerset.
- We are delegated to deliver B&NES Council’s statutory social care function for adults who have care and support needs as outlined in the Care Act 2014
- You will primarily be undertaking S.42 (Care Act 2014) Safeguarding Enquiries. This involves direct work with individuals, families and professionals, report writing, attending safeguarding meetings and practicing in accordance to ‘Making Safeguarding Personal’ principles
- As part of the enquiries you may undertake Care and Support assessments, support planning, Carer’s Assessments and Mental Capacity Assessments
- You will also work with individuals around self-neglect concerns in accordance with BANES self-neglect policy
The Ideal Candidate
You must be qualified with a social work degree or equivalent and be registered with Social Work England.
You will have experience in adult safeguarding and section 42 enquiries and report writing, as well as have a working knowledge of effective models of strength based personalised assessments, knowledge of current research and a working knowledge of current legislation.
You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
