Job Introduction
As a Senior Therapy Assistant, you’ll be an essential part of a welcoming and skilled multidisciplinary team at Sheppey Community Hospital, supporting patients across the Swale locality including Sittingbourne Memorial Hospital.
You’ll help deliver effective rehabilitation and falls prevention interventions, working under the guidance of qualified professionals to promote independence and improve quality of life for the people in our community.
This is a full-time role (37.5 hours) with Monday–Sunday shift patterns available between 8am and 8pm.
Main Responsibility
As part of the Rapid Response and Intermediate Care Team, your day-to-day will include:
Delivering prescribed rehabilitation and falls prevention programmes
Conducting basic assessments under supervision after Trusted Assessor training
Promoting high standards of care and maintaining accurate patient records
Assisting with community-based assessments and home visits
Participating in therapy group sessions and supporting MDT meetings
Being the first point of contact for patients, families, and other health professionals
Contributing to service development, administrative tasks, and equipment upkeep
Upholding confidentiality and information governance standards
The Ideal Candidate
You’ll be someone who:
Holds a Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Health & Social Care or equivalent
Has experience working in community rehabilitation or therapy assistant roles (Band 3 or similar)
Understands the needs of patients requiring falls rehabilitation
Can work independently, manage a caseload, and respond to changing priorities
Demonstrates excellent verbal/written communication and time management
Is confident using Microsoft Office and clinical record systems
Has a valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for community visits
Desirable but not essential:
Trusted Assessor Training
Foundation degree in a related subject
Experience co-facilitating therapy groups alongside Allied Health Professionals
