Senior Administrator

Job Introduction

Are you an experienced and proactive administrator ready to take the next step in your career? We're looking for a Senior Administrator to join our integrated administrative team within the Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service, helping to deliver a high-quality and responsive service that truly makes a difference.

As a Senior Administrator, you will play a key role in the day-to-day coordination and supervision of the administrative team. This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll work closely with function leads, support colleagues, and ensure the smooth running of administration across the service.

This is a dynamic role with variety—ranging from line management to project support and service improvement initiatives. You’ll be involved in decision-making, championing new technologies, and adapting to the changing needs of the service.

This is a fixed term position for 12 months for 37.5 hours a week. You will be based at out Seax House, County Hall location.

Travel for this role across our Essex Quadrants is required, meaning a driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes is required for this role. 

Main Responsibility

As a Senior Administrator you will: 

  • Supervise and support a team of administrators across Essex

  • Line management of Apprentices and Band 3 staff, including appraisals and rota planning

  • Deputise for Band 5 Admin Leads during absence

  • Collate and present service performance reports

  • Support and lead on the implementation of new ways of working

  • Promote positive change within the administration hub

  • Chair or minute team meetings as required

  • Ensure accurate and confidential patient record keeping using SystmOne

  • Maintain excellent communication with families, professionals, and external stakeholders

  • Provide flexible support across multiple Essex locations (minimum two days per week travel)

  • Embrace and support use of digital tools and new systems

  • Work independently, setting your own priorities

The Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills 
  • Competent IT skills including Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Accuracy/attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise own workload
  • Effective time management
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Experience of working with confidential and sensitive information and data
  • Understanding of patient needs and NHS
  • ECDL or equivalent
  • SystmOne Experience

As this role requires travel, a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes are required.
