Respiratory Health Care Assistant

Job Introduction

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as a Health Care Assistant within the Respiratory Team in Amesbury, Wiltshire!

You will join a welcoming Community Respiratory Team in the South of the County.

This multidisciplinary team delivers a holistic patient centred approach, working collaboratively with Hospice and Community services; provides the Wiltshire Home Oxygen Service; Pulmonary Rehabilitation; Disease and medication optimisation and Exacerbation management.

 

Main Responsibility

This role will include working closely with the respiratory physiotherapists to deliver a Pulmonary Rehabilitation service (exercise and education programme for people with Chronic Respiratory Disease) and also be involved in the day to day running of the service, providing clinical and administrative support to the respiratory nurses.

Experience of supervising exercise training and knowledge of working in a respiratory setting will be an advantage, but training will also be provided. There will also be opportunities for respiratory learning and development.

The Ideal Candidate

  • The successful candidate will require excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, working within a small friendly team and be expected to travel to work in several locations in Wiltshire to provide this service. Access to own car and a driving licence is therefore essential.You will be passionate about working in healthcare and able to work as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team.
  • You will support the team in delivering a high standard of patient care, displaying strong communication and organisation skills at all times.
  • Previous experience in a health or social care setting is desirable but not essential.
  • You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
