Job Introduction
Join our friendly team as an Administrator at CRG Medical Services based in HMP Prison, Chelmsford.
Playing an integral role within our prison service, which aims to ensure primary care is at the heart of our everyday role.
You will work Monday – Friday (8am-4pm)
Main Responsibility
- Your main responsibility will be the management of staff rotas ensuring that there is enough staff on each shift.
- You will liaise with the Heads of Departments and build a close relationship with our business partner MedTeam on a regular basis who will assist you in filling any gaps
- Other responsibilities of an Admin staff member include booking a range of internal clinic appointments for patients
- booking of external hospital appointments for patients that have been referred to secondary care
- requesting medical information from patient’s community GP’s and ensuring we obtain this information within a specific time frame so that we are able to continue care.
- These duties will mostly be when covering any annual leave or sick so you will need a thorough understanding of all processes.
- General Admin duties (scanning, copy, filling, creating letters etc.)
Contract Specific
- No parking available on site but there are car parks located in walking distance

Person Specification
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
- Ability to build and develop relationships
Essential Experience / Qualifications
- Experience in the use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- All candidates are subject to prison vetting checks
Desirable Experience
- Previous Admin experience or working within a healthcare environment
- Experience in dealing with staff rotas
