Seize the opportunity to excel as a Practice Development Nurse (PDN) within the realm of inpatient rehabilitation. Embark on an exciting journey within the three in-patient wards across Community Hospital sites located in Bath and Paulton.

Hours are usually 7am – 7pm Monday to Friday with 1 in 4 weekends expected with options for flexibility and supporting staff across the 24/7 nursing week. Working as part of the clinical teams with some dedicated supervisory time to work alongside.

Main Responsibility

You will be responsible for enhancing clinical development across both St Martin’s Hospital in Bath and Paulton Hospital. You will actively engage in hands-on, practical clinical leadership, guiding newly appointed staff, students, and apprentices. Your role involves cultivating clinical competences, spearheading dynamic improvement, and ensuring a continuum of enhancement.

  • Clinical Excellence: Showcase your clinical expertise by advocating for evidence-based practices that make a difference. You will demonstrate proficiency, from impeccable moving and handling techniques to objective identification of patients' needs. Your expertise will include training in medical devices such as PEG/NG tubes and syringe drivers.
  • Mentorship and Development: Facilitate the growth of your colleagues by shaping their clinical competencies. Undertake the role of guiding continuous professional development and supporting revalidation journeys. Navigate the realm of live learning needs analysis and contribute to the Professional Development Forum.
  • Champion of Learning: Radiate positivity as a visible presence within the team! Cultivate a fertile learning environment for both students and peers alike. Elevate training standards to unprecedented heights, seamlessly blending academia with practical application.
