Job Introduction

We're looking for a passionate and dynamic Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our exciting Rapid Response and Intermediate Care Team working in the community and in-patient rehabilitation unit.

You'll be working closely with a team of Occupational Therapists as well as working collaboratively with our Physiotherapists, Nursing and Support Worker colleagues.  

If you are a final year student due to qualify, we can also look to support you with our preceptorship scheme that we offer where we support you into the team within the first year of your qualification.

The service operates 7 days a week 8am till 8pm, and so includes weekend and bank holiday working.

Main Responsibility

Within this role, you will:  

  • Undertake 6-month rotations into Intermediate Care, Rapid Response and on the In-patient Rehabilitation Unit
  • Complete holistic initial assessments with patients
  • Devise treatment plans in line with patient's goals 
  • Liaise with family members/relatives and carers  
  • Implement and deliver treatment interventions
  • Complete follow up review visits with patients
  • Delegate to support worker colleagues 
  • Attend and participate in clinical meetings, team meetings and in-service training 

The Ideal Candidate

This is an opportunity to put your Degree in Occupational Therapy to great use. You will have a full driving license with access to a car, you will be motivating, innovative and adaptable, with the ability to work flexibly across specialities as need arises, holding the HCPC (Occupational Therapist) registration. With strong communication and organisation skills, and a flexible approach you will ensure delivery of positive experiences to patients at every stage of their healthcare journey. 

If you are a final year student due to qualify, we can also look to support you with our preceptorship scheme that we offer where we support you into the team within the first year of your qualification.

You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
