Job Introduction

We are looking for a Nurse Associate to join our District Nursing Team in Midsomer Norton!

As a Nurse Associate you will be equipped with the relevant hands-on practical knowledge, skills, and attitudes to effectively provide care to patients in a variety of clinical settings.  You will learn a wide range of competencies through the direct supervision of a registered practitioner.

You will be based at The Hollies in Midsomer Norton, you will be joining an extremely friendly, compassionate, and experienced nursing team who are committed to delivering high quality nursing care and where teamwork is at the forefront of everything we do.

There are other Band 4 nurse associates within the team along with Band 5, Band 6 and Band 7 nursing staff based at The Hollies who are always around for support and guidance.

You will work in close partnership with other primary healthcare professionals such as GPs, Community Matrons and other specialist nursing services such Tissue Viability, Heart Failure Nurses and Diabetic Specialist Nurses.

The team is situated on the high-street of Midsomer Norton, with a Sainsbury’s and other local amenities situated nearby.  The service also has its own dedicated car park.

Main Responsibility

As a Nurse Associate you will:

  • Work in care teams with other professionals, providing practical help by delivering aspects of nursing care to vulnerable and often highly dependent patients.
  • Use sound clinical reasoning skills when delivering care and therapy interventions
  • Deliver a delegated workload against the needs of patients and service
  • Treat all individuals with respect and maintain privacy, dignity and confidentiality
  • Commit to personal and professional development
  • Organise, prioritise and adjust own workload
  • Accurately and effectively report on care undertaken and document changes in condition, maintain records, and ensure that there is feedback to the appropriate or responsible healthcare professional.

The Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • The required qualifications to be accepted on the academic programme 
  • A commitment to undertaking any additional studies
  • Have a driving license and access to a car for work purposes.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to work independently, using own initiative
  • Previous experience in a care or health setting
