Neurodiverse School Engagement Lead - PINS (Wiltshire)

Job Introduction

Partnership for Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools (PINS), is a groundbreaking initiative led by the Department for Education, Department for Health and Social Care, and NHS England

As the School Engagement Lead for the Partnership for PINS, you will lead efforts to foster inclusive educational environments for neurodiverse students.

This short-term role demands dynamic leadership, a commitment to diversity and inclusion, and the ability to coordinate diverse stakeholders.

You will oversee programme implementation, including promoting awareness, managing the governance board, producing reports, leading a team, recruiting schools, conducting needs assessments, and organising training programmes.

You will supervise Neurodiversity Facilitators working together to meet the needs of schools. 

Importantly, you will work with the three Parent Carer Forums to ensure that family perspectives inform training. 

Base: Your base will be High Post in Wiltshire however, travel is required to cover the Wiltshire patch.

This role is on a fixed term contract until March 2026.

Main Responsibility

  • Raise programme awareness among schools, partner organisations, and stakeholders.
  • Engage decision-makers to advocate for neurodiversity inclusion in schools.
  • Work with the three Parent Carer Forums across BSW.
  • Collect data on key indicators and outcomes for specified cohort of schools and support analysis of these outcomes. 
  • Highlight achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide supervision and line management for Neurodiversity Facilitators fostering a supportive work environment. 
  • Delegate tasks effectively to Neurodiversity Facilitators, ensuring team members are equipped for success.   
  • Complete comprehensive needs assessments. 
  • Analyse assessment data to inform tailored interventions and support for specified cohort of schools. 
  • Collaborate with the three Parent Carer Forums across BSW to ensure family perspectives shape our approach conducting assessments. 
  • Design and deliver responsive training programmes tailored to school needs. 
  • Collaborate with experts to develop high-quality training materials and resources. Ensure training sessions are accessible and inclusive for all participants.
  • Incorporate feedback from the three Parent Carer Forums to enhance the relevance and effectiveness of training programmes.

Additional Information

  • This is a full-time position based in Wiltshire, with flexibility to meet the needs of Children and Young People.
  • The successful candidate will undergo relevant training and induction processes upon appointment.

Travel within the region will be required to fulfill the responsibilities of the role therefore a full UK Driving licence and access to vehicle for work purposes is essential.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Sciences, Allied Health Professional or appropriate nursing background or demonstrate equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering training, preferably in the education sector. 
  • Experience working with neurodiverse communities or a strong understanding of neurodiversity and inclusive education principles. 
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues and partners within schools and the Parent Carer Forums towards shared goals. 
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with partners. 
  • Ability to provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse partners, including educators and the three Parent Carer Forums.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships, negotiate effectively, and resolve conflicts constructively. 
  • Experience engaging with families or caregivers of neurodiverse individuals, with a focus on incorporating their perspectives into programme activities.
