Job Introduction
We are looking for a Band 7 Infant Feeding Lead to join our UNICEF Baby Friendly accredited Public Health Nursing 0-5 Health Visiting Service in Bath and Northeast Somerset.
This is an exciting opportunity for an either an established Band 7, or a Band 6 Health Visitor with a passion for infant feeding, looking to develop their career.
This is a rewarding role where responsibilities are dualistic in nature. You will enjoy the opportunity to work directly with families to provide specialist infant feeding support as well as providing strategic leadership to achieve and maintain UNICEF BFI Gold Accreditation.
This is a full-time position. Shifts are typically Monday- Friday 9am - 5pm with options for flexibility.
You would be based primarily at one of our four locations: Somer Valley, Bath South, Bath City or Keynsham / Chew and will be required to travel to all localities.
Main Responsibility
As the Infant Feeding Lead you will support and contribute to the development of new and existing services to ensure that existing BFI accreditation standards are maintained and standards for BFI Gold are achieved, including undertaking relevant audits and reports.
You will also contribute to the development and implementation of a multi-agency Breastfeeding Strategy for BANES, whilst promoting positive breastfeeding culture within the organisation, our partners, and the community.
You will deliver an engaging programme of evidence-based UNICEF infant feeding training to the Health Visiting Service and Children’s Centres.
The Ideal Candidate
Successful Candidates will:
- hold SCPHN registration
- Have a minimum of two years’ experience working as a Health Visitor
- Hold a relevant specialist infant feeding qualification
- Have knowledge of national and local strategies pertaining to children and young people and the public health agenda.
