Healthcare Porter - HMP Norwich

Job Introduction

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Porter to join our healthcare team within a prison setting. 

As a Healthcare Porter, you will support the health care team in the delivery of an effective and efficient health care service through the management of internal and external requirements for the delivery of good and services cross both sites at HMP Norwich

This role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday.

Please note that the start date will not be until March/April

Main Responsibility

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • To receive goods delivered to HMP Norwich for the health care service.
  • To transfer goods across both sites at HMP Norwich, delivering to the appreciate site for health care.
  • To unpack and store all goods into the appropriate storage areas within health care environments.
  • To manage stock control within all health care sites as directed by line manager.
  • To ensure a tidy environment is maintained in all storage areas.
  • To transfer medication between pharmacy and health care areas, adhering to all policies and procedures in the safe transfer of medicines.
  • To collect specimens form health care sites to ensure they are delivered to the coaction point in time for transportation to laboratory settings.
  • Organising and escorting the clinical waste monthly service.

The Ideal Candidate

Personal Specification:

Essential:

  •  Good standard of education, literate and numerate and IT skills
  • Good Communication skills
  • Ability to work on own or as part of a team

Desirable:

  • SystmOne experience
  • Healthcare and/or Porter experience
