Job Introduction
Our Urgent Care Response Team provides rapid assessment and treatment to patients in the community, helping to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions and supporting timely discharge from hospital.
As a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant, you will work closely with nurses, therapists and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care to patients in their own homes. You will assist with a range of clinical and personal care tasks, supporting patients with both acute and ongoing healthcare needs.
This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week. Shifts are worked between 8:00am and 8:00pm, including weekends and public holidays on a rota basis.
Main Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Supporting registered clinicians to deliver urgent care and treatment in patients’ homes.
- Undertaking delegated clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, catheter care, wound care and pressure area management.
- Monitoring and recording vital signs and reporting any concerns promptly.
- Assisting patients with personal care and mobility where required.
- Maintaining accurate patient records using electronic systems.
- Working independently in the community and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Providing compassionate, person-centred care that promotes dignity and independence.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant who is committed to delivering excellent care in the community.
Essential requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent experience)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Enhanced DBS check
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Access to a car that can be used for work
Desirable experience:
- Community-based healthcare experience
- Phlebotomy
