Head of Partnerships and Engagement

Job Introduction

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the role of Head of Partnerships and Engagement. This is a leadership position responsible for driving strategic networking and partnership development across Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon, and Wiltshire. As Head of Partnerships and Engagement, you will lead the creation, implementation, and monitoring of our partnership and engagement strategy. This strategy will be grounded in insight, population health intelligence, and best practices, aiming to improve patient outcomes across the region.

In this role, you will report to the Regional Director and work closely with the broader leadership team, playing a critical part in reducing health inequalities and enhancing patient outcomes. You will lead the efforts to improve patient and service user access to care, optimise resources, and deliver the BSW (BaNES, Swindon, and Wiltshire) transformation plan.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the partnership strategy is closely aligned with local health needs and service priorities. This includes using population health intelligence to guide decisions, ensuring that services are responsive to the communities’ needs, and continuously improving outcomes. A key focus of your role will be developing strong, collaborative relationships with local partners, stakeholders, and service users to create integrated care pathways that provide seamless access to services, while reducing health inequalities. You will also oversee the monitoring and evaluation of these partnerships to ensure that objectives are being met, and improvements are being delivered.

As Head of Partnerships and Engagement, you will be accountable for supporting the development of service specifications in collaboration with the Deputy Head of Partnerships and the Contracts and Performance Manager. You will ensure that services are designed and delivered in accordance with local requirements, monitoring compliance and performance against agreed standards. Your work will be instrumental in ensuring that the services we provide are tailored to meet the needs of diverse communities while adhering to contractual obligations and quality standards.

  • You will take proactive steps to address and resolve any issues related to partnerships, advocating for both the needs of the organisation and those of external partners. This will involve effective communication and negotiation to foster productive collaborations.
  • You will hold overall responsibility for system and service user engagement activities. You will develop and implement metrics to evaluate the impact of these activities, ensuring they contribute to improved outcomes and align with financial performance targets.
  • Another key responsibility will be the development and delivery of a comprehensive system engagement strategy. You will engage partners at various levels in the ongoing development and implementation of the transformation plan, in line with the Integrated Care Board’s (ICB) vision for Integrated Community-Based Care (ICBC).
  • Collaboration will be a cornerstone of your work, as you will work closely with communications, marketing, operational, and transformation teams to identify opportunities for service user engagement. You will also ensure that strategies are in place to deliver outcome-focused engagement that directly contributes to the success of the transformation plan.
