As a Community Staff Nurse, you will work closely with our experienced Health Visitors and School Nurses to deliver the Healthy Child Programme, ensuring children and young people receive the support they need to thrive. With guidance from senior team members, you will play a key role in developing the service and delivering safe and effective universal health provision to families and schools across Slough.

Main Responsibility
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver the Healthy Child Programme as part of the public health team.
- Support identified community health needs in line with national and local priorities.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with children, young people, families, and professionals across health, education, and social care.
- Ensure safeguarding of children and young people.
- Work flexibly, including some evenings and occasional weekends.
Professional Responsibilities:
- Participate in clinical, peer, and management supervision.
- Work safely within HCRG Care Group, NMC, and health and safety policies.
- Maintain continuing professional development and meet revalidation requirements.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Provide planned care and Health Needs Assessments for children and young people.
- Deliver public health promotion activities in schools and the community.
- Offer training sessions on medical awareness and conditions such as epilepsy.
- Support breastfeeding families and conduct development reviews.
- Manage risk within caseload, ensuring appropriate escalation.
- Promote health and wellbeing through education, advice, and empowerment.
Management & Administration:
- Organise and manage own caseload effectively.
- Contribute to service targets, training, and staff supervision.
- Ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
- Maintain electronic records and comply with policies and procedures.

The Ideal Candidate
Essential:
- Registered Nurse/Midwife (or pending qualification/registration).
- Knowledge of NMC Code, evidence-based practice, and safeguarding.
- Understanding of multiagency working, the Children’s Act, Equality Act (2010), and Healthy Child Programme.
- Experience working within a team and under direct/indirect supervision.
- Strong planning, organisational, and health promotion skills.
- Effective verbal, written, and IT skills, with experience in record-keeping.
- Ability to organise workload and work independently.
- Must meet English language proficiency requirements.
Desirable:
- Mentorship qualification and knowledge of Public Health & clinical supervision.
- Experience in mental health support, public speaking, teaching, and supporting learners.
- Ability to work independently in a mobile/lone-working setting.
