Community Physiotherapist - Band 5

Job Introduction

We are looking for a thoughtful, proactive and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly team within our Intermediate Care Rehabilitation Service in Luton, which was recently rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).  The role would suit either a newly qualified Physiotherapist or a Physiotherapist looking to gain Community experience.

As a community Physiotherapist you will be working with the Luton Intermediate Care Community Rehab Team, assessing and treating patients referred by all our health and social care stakeholders, providing a high standard of care and physiotherapy services to patients with diverse and sometimes complex conditions predominantly in their own homes and occasionally within care homes, nursing homes and our inpatient rehab unit.

You will be responsible for providing specialised physiotherapy assessment, treatment and advice to an independent caseload, working closely with colleagues in this multi-disciplinary team and supported senior Physiotherapists across Therapy Services.

This is a full time opportunity working 37.5 hours across the week.

Main Responsibility

As a Community Physiotherapist, you will have access to supportive supervision and peer review from a well established team of Physiotherapists. Within this role you will:  

  • Perform comprehensive physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations, using clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment
  • Formulate and deliver specialist individual physiotherapy treatment programmes based on a sound knowledge of evidence-based practice
  • Formulate accurate prognoses and recommend best course of intervention
  • Evaluate patient progress, reassess and alter treatment programmes if required

The Ideal Candidate

This is an opportunity to put your Degree in Physiotherapy to great use. You will have a full driving license with access to a car, you will be motivated, innovative and adaptable, with the ability to work flexibly across specialities as need arises, holding the HCPC (Physiotherapist) registration. With strong communication and organisation skills, and a flexible approach you will ensure delivery of positive experiences to patients at every stage of their healthcare journey. 

You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
