Job Introduction
We are looking for a qualified Allied Heath Professional, experienced in service management to join our Paediatric AHP services in West Essex. As the Clinical AHP Service Manager you will be responsible for the management and delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality children’s community Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy services, as part of the Essex Child and Family wellbeing Service in West Essex.
You will be based at one of our bases within West Essex, with the ability to work between here and home.The position is a permanent position with the flexibility to negotiate your contracted hours to suit your personal commitments.
You will provide effective leadership, including being a positive role model and displaying the right behaviours to drive high levels of service user satisfaction and colleague retention.· You will be knowledgeable of clinical guidelines and ongoing developments within children's' services and work with partners to ensure best practice and service innovation in West Essex.
Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Services, in partnership with Barnardos offer provide specialist community services in a range of settings including homes, our Child Development Centre, our Family Hubs and educational environments. We work with our Community Paediatricians, Community Children's Nurses, Safeguarding and Pre-birth to 19 (Healthy Family) Teams, as well as partner agencies, to provide effective and joined up care for children and their families.
Main Responsibility
As the Clinical AHP Service Manager you will line manage a number of clinical Team Leaders in the Therapy Teams and work closely with our Head of Service and managers of our Children’s Specialist and Pre-Birth to 19 Services.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide effective leadership, including being a positive role model and displaying the right behaviours to drive high levels of colleague satisfaction and colleague retention.
- Facilitate the implementation of strategies to increase efficiency, maintain quality and ensure continuous improvement to the services being delivered within the care environment
- Closely monitor all areas of customer satisfaction to ensure the highest attainable standards are met at all times and strive to be best in class.
- To be aware of commissioning requirements and pressures and to identify opportunities for further growth
- To ensure that patient and stakeholder feedback is used to improve services

The Ideal Candidate
You will be a qualified Allied Health Professional with experience of managing a team and delivering AHP services. You will be a dynamic individual looking to join an organisation that offers positive change and continued growth and development
You will be able to demonstrate your ability to improve and enhance the delivery of clinical services, by showing innovation and determination, whilst having experience of financial and budget management, and ensuring KPI’s are met. Negotiation and influencing are also a key requirement for this position.
There is an expectation to visit our sites occasionally and to conduct meetings in a variety of settings so the ability to travel throughout Essex is essential.
