Bank Driver

Job Introduction

We are looking for a new Team Member to help us with Annual Leave and Sickness Cover on an adhoc basis delivering and collecting supplies, post, specimens etc from various GP Surgeries and Hospital within the BANES, Somerset & Bristol locality.

The majority of the work is pre-booked to cover Annual Leave, Sickness etc, there is is also adhoc last minute work.  You could be working for us for just a day, a few days, a week or even longer depending on the demand on our service.

This will ideally suite someone who want flexibility in the work that they do or even someone who is semi-retired and they can pick and chose if they want to work or not.

Our hours our operation are from 7am to 3pm and 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays.

Main Responsibility

Delivery & Collection of:

  • Pathology Supplies
  • Pathology Specimens - Blood & Urine etc
  • Pharmacy Supplies
  • Sterile Equipment - Clean & Dirty
  • Medical Equipment - ie mattresses, heart monitors etc
  • Postal Service - including Internal/External Mail, Boxes and Parcels etc
  • Medical Examiner Notes - site specific
  • Occasional Medical Records

The Ideal Candidate

All our routes are timmed, therefore you will need to be able to follow our schedules of work as set out.

You should be able to liaise with people at all levels and have a calm nature as you are classified as a Lone worker and will need to be able to deal with situations and and when they arise and know when to call for assistance.

Having a flexible approach to working and be able to work as part of a Team and on your own is essential.

Full training is provided on all schedules before undertaking any work on your own.

You should have no more than 3 points on your licence and be able to drive in all weathers and undertake basic vehicle checks to ensure that the vehicle is roadworthy each day.
