As a Bank Band 6 Sexual Health Nurse, you’ll be working as part of the HCRG Care Group Team in our Oldham, Bury and Rochdale Sexual Health service. As well as the attractive hourly rates of pay, at HCRG Care Group you will benefit from:

Job Introduction
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Bank Band 6 Sexual Health Nurse to join our dedicated team working across the Oldham, Bury and Rochdale Sexual Health Service.
In this rewarding role, you will provide accessible sexual health screening, advice, treatment, contraception, health promotion, and counselling within both clinic and outreach settings. You will continue to develop your skills, knowledge and experience across sexual health, contraception, and leadership, while supporting the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care.
The successful candidate will work flexibly across all aspects of Sexual Health, Contraception and HIV, demonstrating a progressive attitude, a commitment to continual improvement, and the ability to maintain personal and professional competence.
Applicants should hold recognised sexual health competencies (STIF Foundation or Intermediate), a Faculty Diploma in Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (DFSRH), and have a minimum of two years’ experience in sexual health at Band 5 or 6 level.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage and triage patients for sexual health, contraception, and HIV care, escalating to the multidisciplinary team when necessary.
- Provide STI/HIV screening, treatment, and partner management following clinical protocols and Patient Group Directions (PGDs).
- Insert and remove contraceptive implants and intrauterine devices after appropriate training.
- Promote sexual health through education, brief interventions, and positive health messaging.
- Work autonomously to manage a caseload, ensuring patient choice and effective care pathways.
- Offer specialised advice, develop care plans, and support colleagues with clinical leadership.
- Maintain accurate records and uphold clinical governance and organisational policies.
- Participate in audits, research, and service development initiatives.
- Commit to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.

Ideal Candidate
- Registered Nurse with NMC registration
- FSRH Faculty Diploma in Contraception & STIF Foundation
- Band 6 Sexual Health Nurse, or experienced Band 5 in a sexual health setting
- Experience working within Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Teaching and mentorship experience
- Letters of Competency for Subdermal Implants
- Symptomatic screening (STIF Foundation)
- Ability to apply research evidence and theory to clinical practice
- Understanding of factors influencing intervention models and patient participation
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes
While not essential having the below would be desirable;
- V300 Independent Non-Medical Prescriber qualification
- FSRH LoC Intrauterine techniques (LoC IUT)
- Sexual Health Advising.
