Job Introduction
We are looking for a thoughtful and caring individual to join our friendly team within our Cheshire West and Chester Sexual Health services.
As a Band 6 Contraception and Sexual Health Nurse, your role will be challenging, varied, and rewarding as you will be responsible for providing support, advice, information, education, and health promotion to patients attending the integrated sexual health & HIV services. This will also include patients diagnosed with sexually transmitted infections.
Based primarily at our Fountains service in Chester, you will be working closely with a multidisciplinary team made up of Consultants, Doctors, experienced Nurses, HCAs, and an administrative team. You will be required to be flexible and work across our community services in Chester, Ellesmere Port, Northwich, and Winsford, and therefore you must have a driver's licence and access to a vehicle.
We provide free and confidential sexual health services in Cheshire West and Chester including Winsford, Northwich and Ellesmere Port. Our services include providing free information and advice on all types of contraception and STI testing and treatment. Our service is confidential, non-judgemental and for people of all ages, genders and orientations.
Main Responsibility
We’re looking for an enthusiastic Registered Nurse to complement our current Sexual Health Team to provide high quality nursing care for patients attending the service for sexual health care and contraception. You will deliver family planning provision to clients age 13 upwards and from a diverse range of cultural and social backgrounds.
The Ideal Candidate
You will be to be a Registered Nurse with experience of working at a Band 6 and be fully trained in the delivery of family planning and contraception methods.
To be considered for the role we are looking for applicants who have their BASHH STIF qualification or have a desire to complete this. Additionally, you must have a driving licence; and have access to a car as you will be required to travel between sites.
You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
