Main Responsibility
As a Occupational Therapist you will:
- Assess patient understanding of treatment proposals, gain valid informed consent and have the capacity to work within a legal framework with all patients.
- To perform comprehensive assessment of patients with diverse presentations, complex physical and psychological conditions and multi-pathologies using clinical reasoning skills.
- Formulate and deliver specialised individual occupational therapy treatment programmes based on a sound knowledge of evidence-based practice and treatment options using clinical assessment, reasoning skills and utilizing a wide range of highly specialized physical, sensory and cognitive treatment skills following analysis of information received from the patient, carers and referrer, including any other professional involved.
- Formulate accurate prognoses for rehabilitation and recommend best course of intervention, developing comprehensive discharge plans, liaising with relevant professionals and more senior colleagues as appropriate.
- Evaluate patient progress, reassess, and alter treatment programmes if required.
- To represent the therapy team/service internally and externally regarding Occupational Therapy services in their clinical area.
- To manage clinical risk within own patient caseload.
The Ideal Candidate
You will be HCPC registered and have a BSc/Diploma in Occupational Therapy
On the day we will have recruitment advisors hiring managers, and colleagues from each banding range. You will be able to discuss with colleagues how they have progressed through the bands and how we have been able to support with professional development. As we will have recruitment advisors available on the day we can talk you through interviewing techniques and support you with the writing of your CV and how to best display your skillset.
