Are you a thoughtful and dedicated Children’s Physiotherapist?  Are you based in the Wiltshire or would you be able to work virtually to provide assessments or treatment sessions? Are you looking to join an NHS Health and Social Care partner which is striving to make positive changes?

 As one of our Physiotherapists you will support children with movement disorders, disability and illness to develop their gross and fine motor skills and help them to reach their full potential.

As a valued member of our Integrated Therapies Team you will join our South Team, but also work across the county to provide exceptional care to the children and families in South Wiltshire. You will work alongside dedicated and highly-skilled Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Therapy Assistants and Administration team members, primarily working in Salisbury and surroundings towns/villages like Trowbridge and Chippenham.

Main Responsibility

Within this role, you will work with children and young people, parents/carers, and teachers to maximise independence and increase participation in home, school and community environments. You will also be able to work virtually for some clinics to support the children. You will develop your skills in treating patients with a wide variety of conditions working on referrals from GP’s, health visitors, schools, and other area agencies. You will manage individual patient cases and gain expertise through a close working relationship with senior staff and like-minded professionals

  • Deal with triage of patient referrals  
  • Complete holistic initial assessments with patients 
  • Liaise with family members/relatives and carers  
  • Devise and reviewing care plans  
  • Complete follow up visits with patients 
  • Attend and participating in team meetings and inservice training 
  • Lead and assisting with strength and balance classes 

The Ideal Candidate

 

This is an opportunity to put your HCPC qualification and Physiotherapy diploma/degree to great use. You will have knowledge and experience of carrying out a range of assessments and procedures in order to identify and address the therapeutic needs of the children and families we serve. You will be able to evidence your ability to set patient and family centered clinical goals, using clinical outcome measures to evidence your interventions. As an essential member of the Integrated Therapies Team, you will possess strong communication and organisation skills, and a flexible approach to ensure you deliver positive experiences at every stage of the healthcare journey.

You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
