We are seeking an experienced Immunisation Nurse to join our Wiltshire Team on a substantive basis. The post holder will work alongside substantive and bank colleagues, and will be based in Chippenham but will require wider travel across the locality.
Main Responsibility
As an Immunisation Nurse at HCRG Care Group Bath and Wiltshire, your key responsibilities will include:
- Assist in the planning, delivery and evaluation of immunisation sessions to ensure the provision of safe effective care –ensuring that all organisational standards and values are met.
- Work to maximise vaccination uptake to meet immunisation targets, by reducing any barriers and working proactively within the team.
- Deliver immunisations with support of a senior immunisation nurse but without the need for direct supervision – working as an autonomous practitioner and making clinical judgments and decisions following advice of senior colleagues.
- Safe effective administration of immunisations in line with local and national policy / guidance and PGDs.
The Ideal Candidate
You will have a Registered Nursing qualification and hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. In addition, we are looking for candidates with:
- Knowledge and experience of delivering immunisation programmes
- Ability to meet the travel requirements of the post
- Able to meet the manual handling requirements of the post
- Flexible and adaptable to varied work pattern – frequent early starts and occasional evening/ weekend work.
You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
