Band 5 Community Nurse

Job Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Community Nurse to join our Bath Teams service based at St Martin’s Hospital.

We have both full time and part time vacancies available with various hours. Service hours typically being 8.30am - 5pm Monday to Friday, weekends are also required to be covered, staff are currently working one in every 5 weekends. 

A driving license and car access are essential for the role. Plentiful parking is available onsite, and you will receive a parking permit to visit patients in Bath.

You will join a team who are extremely supportive where teamwork is key with Band 7 Team Leaders always on hand to support you. The team is very sociable who often meet up outside of work hours. The service is only 5 minutes away from the City Centre and next to a large Sainsbury’s and Garden Centre too.

We offer an individually tailored induction programme to suit your needs and interests and to help you develop your skills to be the best you can be. As well as preceptorships for newly qualified nurses, we have an internal learning and development team to allow you to progress quickly in your career and learn more about your specific areas of interest.

There is regular supervision and the opportunity for more junior members of staff to learn and develop by coming out into the field with our more experienced community nurses.

Main Responsibility

As a Band 5 Community Nurse for the Bath Teams, you will be visit patients living in Bath and outlying villages.

To complete the duties of the role a Driver’s license and access to a car is necessary.

We have implemented a Wellbeing Afternoon programme where staff are relieved of duties for an afternoon to focus on wellbeing exercises such as exercises to manage stress.

As a Community Nurse you will:  

  • Be responsible for contributing to the holistic assessment, planning delivery and evaluation of care to patients within their own homes.
  • Implement, monitor and maintain high standards of care delivery at all times.
  • Care for patients and their families in the way that you believe is best
  • Deliver our high service standards, sharing best practice, and actively improving the way we work. 

The Ideal Candidate

You will:

  • Be an NMC/1st level registered Nurse
  • Have a full UK driving license with access to a car for work purposes.
  • Can work both independently and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Have strong communication and organisation skills and a flexible
  • Deliver positive experiences to patients at every stage of their healthcare journey.
