Job Introduction

A rewarding opportunity has arisen within our exciting and expanding organisation, we are looking to appoint a well-motivated Assistant Accountant to join us on a permanent basis.

Operose Health are looking for a Accountant Assistant for 37.5 hours per week. 

Main Responsibility

Key duties will include:

  • The role will be critical in supporting our in-house financial and management accountants in their day to day activities with a specific focus on property reimbursements and claims, PCN finances, management accounts as well as wider financial control related activities.
  • Updating and reconciling financial ledgers, ensuring payments and receipts are correct and contributing to the maintenance of accurate financial records.
  • Assisting in monthly management account preparation for wider dissemination.
  • Preparing financial documents such as purchase orders and bank statements and verifying company expenses, bank deposits and bank payments.
  • Processing regular property reimbursement claims across the group in a timely fashion, with oversight and support from the wider finance team.
  • Reporting discrepancies, mistakes or potential fraud to senior management.
  • Researching and resolving discrepancies in a timely fashion.
  • Contributing to a robust financial control environment through supporting the maintenance of financial systems and associated controls.
  • Providing other ad-hoc support to members of the wider Finance team in their day to day tasks, activities and projects as required.
  • To maintain professional standards within the organization.
  • To ensure that financial policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Solid ethical standards and high levels of integrity.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Ability to work well within a team and independently.
  • The ideal Assistant Accountant candidate is someone that has started or is looking to start their professional qualification studies.
  • Experienced in use of MS Excel (beginner to intermediate level).
  • Not afraid to challenge existing processes, and able to work under own initiative.
  • Strong planning and organisation skills - able to prioritise well under pressure, ensuring deadlines are met.
