Job Introduction

We are looking for a dynamic and committed Advanced Nurse Practitioner for our St Luke's Health Centre in in Southend-on-Sea. To work as part of the clinical team and support the delivery of the clinical care management of the practice population.

About St Lukes:

St Luke's Health centre is a GP Surgery with 6600 patients, team consists of six GP’s, one Practice Nurse and two HCAs, we have also recently moved into a fully refurbished Health Centre.

We have a team of experienced doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals that are committed to providing you the highest standard of care and treatment.

Our reception and administration staff are here to help you with general enquiries such as appointment booking/cancellation and processing repeat prescriptions requests.

Main Responsibility

As the Advanced Nurse Practitioner, you will be working closely with a multidisciplinary team where you will use your experience to practice autonomously and flexibly.  Practitioners should have significant experience in primary care or A&E/Minor Injuries Unit. Working within the nursing team, you will work with the service manager, and clinical lead to deliver robust clinical.

  • Ability to demonstrate adherence to evidence-based practice
  • Experience of working independently in a healthcare role
  • Management experience
  • Clinical supervision/coaching skills
  • General management experience
  • Experience of work using telephone triage
  • Knowledge of local and national healthcare agendas/strategy and policies and how they relate to the specific service.
  • Understand the legal, ethical, and professional responsibilities and accountability with regards to advanced level, autonomous practice.
  • Understand the impact of advanced practice roles on service delivery and their contribution to the multi-professional team.
  • In depth service specific knowledge which underpins advanced level practice.

The Ideal Candidate - Qualifications

Essential

  • Regulated Health Care professional with current registration
  • Relevant Master’s level modules including Advanced Clinical Assessment & Management and Consultation Skills (or equivalent skills and experience)
  • Where appropriate registered as a non-medical prescriber with the relevant regulator or have access to PGD (V300)
  • PILS/ILS
  • Level 3 safeguarding
  • Minor Injury and Minor Illness

Desirable

  • Leadership modules/ experience
  • Paediatric experience with the ability to recognising the sick child
  • Long term conditions
