The role is based at St Luke's Health Centre, working with a large, friendly, and professional practice team to lead and provide high quality services to the 6800 patients. The clinical system is system one. Opening hours are Monday 08.00 - 18.30 to Friday – 0800-1830.
St Luke’s Health Centre is based in Southend-on-sea, Essex. We believe that general practice can be a fun and supportive environment for Healthcare Assistant, and we ensure this through highly developed systems and processes, and support from GP’s and allied healthcare professionals, such as our pharmacists and ANP’s.
This role is working 20 hours per week but multiple part-time hours available
Main Responsibility
Administration duties:
- Opening of the premises.
- Greeting and booking in or patients for surgeries and clinics.
- Dealing with patient enquiries efficiently and courteously.
- To answer telephones promptly ensuring all in-coming lines are covered at all times.
- Making appointments on EMIS web, by processing appointment requests for today, future appointments from patients in person and on the telephone.
- Restoring the telephone service in the morning and checking for any messages.
- Dealing with all telephone queries/requests from patients and acting as liaison with the Doctors/Nurses, as necessary.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience in this role is desirable but not essential.
- You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Good customer service skills
- Good communication skills
