Main Responsibility
As a Staff Nurse within our Lancashire 0-19 community services, you will be providing high quality holistic care to children and young people, providing key elements of the Healthy Child Programme and targeted care based on individual families’ needs as delegated by School Nurse, Health Visitor or Team Leader. You will also complete individual Health Assessments for children and young people identified as being open to Child Protection Plan or Child in Need Plan.
Additional responsibilities will include:
- providing weekly drop-in sessions in High Schools within the locality
- providing training at pre-school age and to schools regarding management of complex health needs
- supporting the School Nurses in acting as a link to assigned schools
- developing internal and external relationships with wider stakeholders.
The Ideal Candidate
You will be a Registered Nurse or Mental Health Nurse with evidence of continual professional development and a passion for working with Children and Young People – prior experience of working within community services will be beneficial. You will have experience of working in a team and inter-agency and collaborative working and be motivated and enthusiastic, open to change and be able to support the senior registered colleagues as and when required.
You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
