Specialist Paediatric Audiologist (Open Day)

Job Introduction

Our Children's Community Audiology Service are recruiting a Band 6 Specialist Paediatric Audiologist to join our team.  In this role you will be working as part of the diagnostic service supporting children and young people within community clinics in B&NES, Somerset and Wiltshire. 

Our team is supportive, enthusiastic and dedicated to providing an excellent level of care to our service users and have just received funding for purchasing sensory equipment and toys to make our service more accessible for children with complex needs

This is a flexible role Monday – Friday between the hours of 8am – 5pm with the ability to complete administration from home.

Main Responsibility

As a Band 6 Specialist Paediatric Audiologist you will hold a senior role within the service and be responsible for:

  • Having clinical and supervision responsibilities of non-registered colleagues including completing 1-2-1’s and appraisals
  • Being involved in auditing and evaluating the current service as well as working to further develop the service provided.
  • Working with audiology colleagues from the local acute trust in delivering the multi-disciplinary preschool hearing aid clinic, taking the lead role in that clinic
  • Writing appropriate clear and concise reports to communicate test findings to the referring professional and others Involved In the care of the child, including the parent/carer
  • Planning and prioritising own administrative workload, and manage time effectively
  • Communicating effectively with children, young people and families who may have hearing loss

The Ideal Candidate

You will have a BSc in Audiology with evidence of M-Level training in paediatric audiology, MSc in Audiology or Clinical Science (audiology modality) or equivalent and be registered with the HCPC. 

As this is a community role, you will have a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
